Welcome to Needle In A Haystack, a Connecticut based craft business centered around, but not limited to, some of the coziest quilts you'll every come across.
My Story
Hi, my name is Dee, a resident of Northwest Connecticut for my whole life. I have been sewing sporadically for 61 years with gaps sometimes as long as a decade between projects. Life gets busy and it's hard to find the time, but I always had my old Capital (lovingly dubbed Cappy) sewing machine at the ready for anything my kids, or grandkids needed help with.
2021 resulted in a huge change, granting me the free time I needed to dig into my fabric stash and start dreaming up ideas. I sold my horse trailer and bought a Janome, really developing the quilting skills I'd picked up years earlier. To date I have made over 125 quilts (my family and close friends stay very cozy and warm 😊)
In addition to quilts I've started to create upcycled denim bags, purses and shopping bags. I have so many more ideas and can't wait to show my new products to you.
About the products
All items are personally made by me and are one of a kind. Product descriptions will state if they are made with new or upcycled materials. All products are washed after creation and stored in my smoke free home. While I do have pets they do not interact with my supplies or the areas where they (or finished products) are stored.
